What this covers
These terms apply when you ask findanannyonline.com to find a caregiver for you through our Find me a nanny placement service. They sit alongside our terms of service. The directory itself stays free; these terms only apply once you pay a deposit.
We search with up to 3 partner agencies that cover your area. We don’t place household staff (housekeepers, chefs, drivers or estate managers).
You pay the deposit to us. If you hire, you pay the placement fee to the partner agency that presented the candidate, not to us. We’re paid a share of that fee by the agency.
Services and fees
Each fee is a percentage of the candidate’s gross annual pay, with a minimum. These are the fees our partner agencies agree to charge families we introduce; the agency confirms your exact fee in writing before you accept an offer.
- Long-term nanny (including rota, travel nanny and family assistant): 16%, $500 deposit, $7,500 minimum, 90-day replacement guarantee.
- Short-term nanny (6–9 months): 25%, $500 deposit, $6,500 minimum, no replacement guarantee.
- Special needs caregiver: 18%, $700 deposit, $8,500 minimum, 90-day replacement guarantee.
- Newborn & night care (night nannies, night nurses, postpartum doulas): 16%, $500 deposit, $7,500 minimum, 90-day replacement guarantee.
The deposit
We ask for the deposit after our first call, before we brief partner agencies. It is $500 for most services and $700 for special needs care, and you pay it to us.
The deposit is non-refundable, including if you decide not to hire or hire someone we didn’t present. If you do hire through us, the full deposit is credited against your placement fee: the agency invoices you for the fee minus your deposit.
When the fee is due
The fee is earned when you, or anyone in your household, accept an offer of work with a candidate we or a partner agency presented to you. It doesn’t depend on the start date.
The partner agency that presented the candidate invoices you directly for the fee minus your deposit, on its own payment terms. You pay the agency, not us. Please tell us when you hire, so we can credit your deposit and make sure the agency does too.
Minimum fees
Your fee is the greater of the percentage of gross annual pay and the minimum for that service. When the minimum is higher, we’ll tell you before you hire (“Minimum fee applies”).
- Long-term nanny: $7,500.
- Short-term nanny: $6,500.
- Special needs caregiver: $8,500.
- Newborn & night care: $7,500.
How we work out annual pay
- Gross annual pay is the candidate’s pay before tax for the first 12 months, as agreed in the offer, including guaranteed hours and any regular bonus.
- Newborn and night care: agreed nights per week × nightly rate × weeks of care, annualised to 52 weeks when the booking is shorter.
- Short-term placements (6–9 months) are priced on the pay for the full agreed term, annualised.
- Benefits like a room, meals or a car aren’t included unless they replace pay.
Hours
Short-term nanny and special needs caregiver placements need at least 30 hours a week. If the agreed hours drop below that within the first 90 days, the fee is still worked out as if the role were 30 hours a week.
The 90-day guarantee
Long-term nanny, special needs caregiver and newborn & night care placements come with a 90-day replacement guarantee from the start date. Short-term nanny placements have no guarantee.
If the caregiver leaves or you let them go during that time, the partner agency will search for one replacement at no extra fee, as long as:
- you paid the agency’s fee in full and on time;
- you tell us in writing within the guarantee period;
- the role, hours and pay haven’t materially changed from the original brief;
- the change isn’t because your family moved, no longer needs care, or reduced the role.
Non-circumvention
If you hire a candidate we or a partner agency presented within 12 months of the introduction, the full fee applies, however the hire happens: directly, through another agency or platform, part-time or temporarily, or by someone else in your household. The fee is then due to the partner agency that presented the candidate, less your deposit.
This also applies if you hire through a partner agency we introduced you to without telling us. Please let us know about any hire, and don’t share candidate details with other families or agencies.
Your details
We share your brief with up to 3 partner agencies covering your area without your name or contact details. We only pass those on once an agency accepts your search. Our privacy policy explains the rest.
